New Car Dealers

Dealer incentives, such as low interest rates, exceptional trade-in values, or even zero percent financing can make all the difference when you purchase a new car. They may save you a little or a lot of money and it's up to you to do your homework.

These incentives are attractive. However, you need to do some comparison shopping at different new car dealers before you sign any purchase agreement. You need to determine what incentive saves you the most money, therefore providing you the best deal. Many times buyers find that by taking a lower or zero percent interest rate saves them the most money over the length of their loan. But if you're a buyer who is trading in a vehicle, the higher trade in value would obviously be the best choice so you don't find themselves in an "upside down" situation.

When visiting new car dealers you need to ask questions about the incentives they are offering to ensure all of the variables are understood. Ask if you're going to pay more for a car to qualify for low or zero percent financing. Make sure that you question the down payment you will need, if any. Is the required loan repayment length shortened? Are you going to need be required to make a balloon payment at the end of the loan? Is there any "catches" to getting a low interest rate, such as buying an extended warranty or other services?

Obviously there are many things that need to be clarified before you make the final decision about buying a new car. Make sure that these incentives are offered on the specific make or model you want to purchase. It would be very frustrating to choose a car, fill out the paperwork, get your loan approval, and then discover that the model does not qualify for any incentive offers.

New car dealers are going to make money on any new car sold. However, if you're working with a reputable dealer you're guaranteed to get the best deal available. You can own that new car you dream about. But- save yourself money by taking all of the proper precautions and asking all of the appropriate and important questions to get a steal on the deal!
